I had a chair very similar to this one for years and in fact tried to order it's replacement here on Amazon but it is apparently not being made anymore. It was basically this chair in cherry color with a black leather pad on the seat.

This one is not as good but if you're not too picky it's not bad either.

The actual finish of the chair is quite striking. Fruitwood is the color that it's called but I would call it a light cherry. Out of the box I noticed that the metal piece that is inset into the wood base (where the wheels go) had some of the screws loose. I tightened them which gave it a much sturdier feel. But be careful - as they reach their zenith of tightness you can sometimes hear the wood reaching its cracking point.

The instructions actually contain an error. Step 3 says to attach the back of the chair to the seat and FULLY TIGHTEN ALL SCREWS (3 of them) It should read DO NOT FULLY TIGHTEN ALL SCREWS YET. Because if you do, you will not be able to line up the arm rests with the back rest of the chair. They need to be loose and then once you have the arms attached to the back rest you can fully tighten everything.

Only have 3 small complaints about the chair are: a) Even at the most loose setting, the spring tension of the reclining adjuster is so tight that you can barely recline. But I imagine over time it will loosen up. b) It feels like the seat portion should slide onto the height adjustment post just a little more. There are times when I feel like the seat is wobbling slightly on the post. c) I would have gladly paid $10 more to have them use real wood screw covers to hide the screws than the plastics ones they did choose. The problem is that they don't match the color of the wood well enough and therefore you notice them a little more. It's not horrible but again, not great. Oh and be careful with the covers - they only give you the exact amount and they break or bend easy. So make sure the entire chair is together and proper before putting them on. Because they are so tight that taking them off will mess them up a little.

Other than these complaints I find the chair nice. I like how high it can go - it's the reason I abandoned my last chair - it wouldn't rise high enough for comfortable arm height while using the mouse on my computer. For reference, I'm 5'9" and my desk is standard height.

If you are not super picky and you're not expecting the quality that would cost you several hundred dollars more in a similar chair then this one isn't bad.
