I recently received this bed and was a little disappointed when I opened the box. Their is very visible and sloppy welding on all of the joints. The accents are halves of hollow seashell shapes welded together with visible gaps at the seams, and look NOTHING like like those in the picture (Not as detailed or as pretty). The description mentions that this bed is steel and cast iron, but there is no cast iron to be seen.

That said, my nine year old daughter loves it anyway and that's what counts! It does sit lower to the floor than what it appears to in the photo, so be aware of that and check the measurements. It is not designed for use with a box spring, and using one would likely make the mattress sit so high that most of the headboard would be covered. There is a metal grid which supports the mattress, which I was aware of before ordering. I'll have to update once she's actually used the bed, as I'm still waiting on her new mattress to arrive.
