I have used the Lotus vegetable sanitizing system for many years and have had to replace it every year or so because it would stop working. I decided to find another system that would sanitize and clean my vegetables that might be a little more reliable. I bought the Elite 50 KT and couldn't be happier. It is not only more sturdy and less expensive but it has more features I like. For example, it produces bubbles which not only adds the ozone for disinfecting but also washes the vegetables removing any grime. Also it has an ozone filter at the top which prevents the ozone from escaping into the air. A nice feature. The Elite 50 has a timer instead of a sensor which I also prefer because the sensor on the Lotus system never did work well. I can't speak to the reliability yet since I have only had it for a few weeks, but so far, I really do love it. I would recommend the Elite 50 KT over the Lotus 100 LBU any day.
