This vacuum should not be confused with a shop vac. While both can live in the garage, in my opinion they have different roles. The shop vacuum has a large diameter hose and is designed to be a powerful, portable tool. For some jobs, like vacuuming the mats in the car, the shop vac is simply too strong and too hard to manipulate; the hose isn't terribly flexible or long. Admittedly, it makes very little sense to buy the garage vacuum to do your car's interior. There are many smaller, less-expensive choices. So where does this garage vacuum fit in?

It's greatest strength is that you can wall mount it, thereby keeping it available at all times. It takes up no floor space and the 32-foot hose gives it a nice range. Once installed, I was surprised at how many times I use it. I am too lazy to dig out the shop vac, plug it in, and then bring it to the site of a small clean up. The Garage Pro, on the other hand, just requires that I grab the hose and turn it on. The convenience factor is amazing.

In terms of performance, the Garage Pro has adequate suction for most jobs. The long hose is easy to coil and uncoil and reaches most places in my two-car garage. It is ruggedly built and easy to install and use. This product does not replace its larger cousin, but it has won a place in my garage and my heart. This is one of those products that you don't realize how much you need it until you buy it.

The price is significant. I suspect this is the barrier to many. If you can afford it and would appreciate its convenience, this product is worth its cost.
