They have just the right amount of give in the tilt mechanism, so you can lean back easily but still have sufficient support so as not to tilt back too far. The slight cushioning of the ribbed seat is just enough to be comfortable, while letting the chairs keep their sleek modern styling. I was able to height-adjust mine quickly.
