I bought this to replace my Craftsman tool bag which didn't hold it's shape very long making it VERY difficult to find, remove and replace any tools I needed at the time. I looked at the Stanley line of portable/mobile tool boxes but the reviews were not so good and their products looked cheaply made. This box looked like just the thing I needed...storage,durabilty and ease of access. This is a nice size box with alot of storage area. It's a little bulky and even has some weight to it new out of the box. The 3 section design seems more rigid and heavy duty than others I have looked at. Access to all three sections is easy but the middle section of drawers can be a little tricky to open and close. There's nothing seperating the two drawers and they tend to catch on one another when opening and closing. The drawer slides are cheap and do not operate smoothly adding to the problem. I haven't put tools in the drawers yet and I think the extra weight will make it worse. So I'm thinking the drawer section will be storage for light things such as sand paper sheets and rolls of tape. The extending handle is weakly constructed and mounted poorly and once I place all my tools into the boxes, I don't expect the handle to last long under extra weight. I will update my review again shortly.

As with all All Clad products, this skillet is solidly built and performs as advertised. The helper handle makes it easier to use with heavy loads, but harder to hang up with my other pans since the space I have isn't as big as this pan is long. The included instructions say not to use salt directly in the pan as the pan will become discoloured or pitted; The first time I used the pan, I salted my fish fillet prior to placing it in the pan and the pan became pitted immediately. I don't mind that much since it was going to happen eventually.

Fleur de Lys 6 Laguiole Rosewood handle knives Review

First of all: a true laguiole knife has three distinctive features: 1) the bumble bee on the top, 2) the letter L enclosed in a circle near the heel of the blade and 3) the rivets in the handle are in the shape of a cross. These knives are not laguiole knives though they are made to look like them. That said, these knives are decent. The rosewood handles are attractive though it lacks any burl and knots; the wood is pretty basic and plain -- higher end knives use wood with more variety and grain. These are pretty much the straight grain running from blade to butt of the handle. The steel blade is average, reasonably straight, sharp and polished. I thought these were fine until I happen to handle a set of higher end steak knives in a store over Christmas. The polish and shine on the $200 set of knives I looked at is far greater and more reflective than these.
Overall, these are fine if you 1) need a lot of knives or 2) don't really want to spend the bucks to get a more decorative set or 3) don't know where Laguiole is and don't care! In my case, I got what I paid for and what I wanted. My comments are basically to say if you want high end knives, these are not for you.

9 Gallon Space Saver Style Evaporative Air Whole House Humidifier Review

I spent lots of time reviewing this model against all the other wick type models. I read all the positive and negative reviews in detail and still felt this was the best wick type humidifier on the market.

Why a wick type humidifier?

Hot mist humidifier: 250-350 watts or more, 1-2 gal capacity, 2 gallons per day of humidified air

Ultrasonic humidifier: most under 25 watts, 1-2 gal capacity, 2 gallons per day of humidified air

This one (Essick / Bemis 821): 32 watts on low, 59 watts on high, 6 gallon capacity, 9 gallons per day of humidified air

READ ALL THE WARNINGS in other posts about some of the more fragile parts, especially the float assembly. Once assembled, no need to disassemble until cleaning - thus no concerns about the fit of the top portion to the holding tank. Make sure you install the filter in the correct direction. One negative comment speaks to 'the majority of air just bypasses the wick" - that is a case where that person installed the filter backwards, I guess? I am not sure HOW he did it, as when I tried to do that, the fan hit the filter, preventing it from operating at all.

I have very hard water in my area. I have a water softener for the house, and I also have a reverse osmosis system for the drinking water. I use ONLY the reverse osmosis water in the humidifier. Because a RO system is designed to remove particulates and suspended solids, it is pure, fresh water. I anticipate that I will not have any issues with scale or slime build up for an entire year because of the extremely clean water I am using. However, I still use the Essick Air Products 1970 Bacteria Treatment product, though at only 1/2 the recommended amount ( much like I use 1/2 the laundry detergent because I have soft water ). It actually makes the air smell nicer, like a very light freshener.

The unit is very quiet on the low setting, but as everyone else has noted, pretty darned loud on high. Use high only when you need to increase humidity in a hurry - otherwise low is sufficient on a 24 hr a day basis for my 2500 Sq foot, 2 level house (your mileage will vary).

I have a wood burning stove in the house. This humidifier keeps up with the dryness that the fire causes and keeps my indoor humidity level at 40-45% all the time.

I too believe that the built in humidity gauge reads low - perhaps up to 10% like many others have noted. I have a number of other humidity gauges that I feel are more accurate to compare against. So, I set this humidifier at 50% and the true humidity is between 40-45%.

Do not take off the entire lid to refill like some have suggested. Simply remove the air baffle and pour the water into that portion of the holding tank, then replace the baffle. Simple and quick.

Who cares if the humidity setting only scrolls up - its extremely easy to set the level you want - so what if you have to push the button a few more times (going up) in the case that you want to lower the setting. Its not an issue worth a negative rating.

There is an easy to see "fill only to here' line inside the unit. I used a Sharpie to mark the other side so I could more easily see it if its dark in the room. Do not overfill.

Proman Windsor Signature Valet Review

This valet is a really fine piece of furniture, looks great, and has wonderful features. I researched dozens of these valets and am most happy that I chose this one. Among other things, there are two racks for pants; most others have only one. The wood quality is nice, and the valet is very well constructed and easily assembled.

There are less expensive valets for sale, but this one is worth the higher price, which is not that high.

The mahogany blends well with my lighter bedroom woods.

I recommend this item without reservation.

I ordered two of these for my daughters room and i really like the way they look. The bedspread,sheet sets, and shams are all good quality but the bedskirt not so great. It is a nice matching bedskirt but has the cheap white paper feelin material for the middle and i have already had to sew the bottom of one. Other than that great buy and they do machine wash well without fading or wrinkling but dont dry the bedskirts.
