I saw that these knives were discontinued as they were showing up on all the discount "deal of the day" type websites. I found this set cheaper here than anywhere else. I had been needing a good set of knives as the ones we had were the 89 dollar Faberware cheap DULL DULL DULL knives.I read a review of these on some cooking forum and everyone was ragging on the design (handle curving down) and snickering at the graphics/color scheme. They were condemning the knives because your wrist would be turned the wrong way and that it didn't make sense. WITHOUT TRYING THEM!! Openly admitting they were making this determination without ever touching the knives. They got it WONG!! It's the exact opposite, the knives handles allow you to cut without having to lift your elbow up or alter the natural grip of the knife. Theses knives make cutting 2x as easy and they are very sharp and (so far) hold a great edge.
The one slight criticism I would give these knives is that I wish the handles were a little thicker/larger diameter. But I'm not sure if that's a real necessity or just something I was used to with my crappy Faberware set.
Talk about bang for the buck. Grab a set somewhere before they disappear.
