My son had a flat head, and this product was a miracle for us. The other reviewers are correct that your baby will squirm and end up at the bottom of a crib. To alleviate this we used our pack and play as a crib (in our room) to keep my son from squirming out of it. The mattress is about the same size as the pack and play, and we shoved a rolled up bath towel at the bottom in to fill the 2-3 inch crack. Over the 4 months we used it, he moved around at night, but in the morning I never saw that his head was off the breathable netting. He would sort of sink into the netting part. We would actually felt comfortable enough to let him sleep on his tummy because there was airflow. We are very happy with this product and it worked very well for us. I would recommend this to a friend/family member as long as they realize that they need to monitor their son or daughter at first.
