I researched many models before making a choice. This one was in the top five, but when I found it here at this price in a "refurbished" model, I couldn't pass it up. And I'm glad I didn't. I say "refurbished" because to me it appeared that it had been returned at some time, checked out, checked for all the proper pieces, and sent back out. Not like it had been used, broken, and then rebuilt. Just as new as if I'd gotten it off the shelf, only the packaging was a bit disheveled. The item itself is wonderful! Very quiet (sometimes the nozzle sucking air is louder than the machine!), excellent suction, nice cord length with auto-retract, overall well done, and very pleased. I will say I'm exclusively hardwood floors, so for this environment it's perfect. Not sure about carpet, although it does come with a beater attachment. Some reviews talked about how it was "cheap plastic." Yes, it's not built of aircraft aluminum, but it is sturdy enough, and it is very light as a result. Overall I'd recommend, like I said, especially at the "refurbished" price!
