The construction is sturdy. I would rate the assembly instructions as 9/10. The shelf comes with a small squeeze tube of what looks like elmers glue. When I was constructing the shelf I ran out of this glue and had to substitute some wood glue, unfortunately applying the wood glue got messy because it had to be applied into holes that were smaller that the glue nozzle.

Another problem for me was that the inter-shelf distance in the center is too short to fit regular sized paper back books on. The manufacturers should redesign the book shelf to accomodate paper back books in the central shelf areas.

Other than that the shelf kicks ass.

I've been happy with this standing desk. I like the shelf space available and the adjustable height, and that the desk is on casters (so I can work in front of a window).
The directions to put the desk together aren't great (but it's not rocket science to put together so it's fine). The small black screws supplied with the desk are REALLY low quality (really!!!! easy to strip). We went out and bought small silver screws for next to nothing at the hardware store (well worth the time saved from having to deal with bad hardware).

I purchased a mattress and was offered a very flimsy bed frame for $100. Found this on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised. It is a substantial piece of furniture. Easily twice the thickness of the $100 frame. It said "easy to assemble with no tools". And that was correct! I had the frame completely set up in a half hour.

BUT...I need something firmer. My body sinks into it and creates more back pain than I already have. if you are looking for something extra plush, this may be for you.

I thought about trying the sleep innovations luratex product but decided after more research that a Talalay latex topper is my next trial product.
