P3 P4960 V-Bot Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Review
I liked that little red robo vac. I've had too of those zoombas and two Roombas.
Anyway, to qualify what I said about Zoomba (and this P3)...no matter what anybody says--this robot is not for carpets of any depth--they are strictly for hard, smooth, slick, surfaces/ hardwood, linolium, congolium (all those mispelled oliums).......and that's why I got this.
I already know what it will and won't do. It won't do carpets.
--but--
It 'is' a dustbuster on wheels and will vacuum non carpeted floors just fine.
Unlike everybody else, I take that dust cloth and dip it in water--spray a little lysol on it--stick it back to bottom of the robot and let it 'lightly' dampmop and lightly sanitize my floors.
All in all, I remember those nicad batteries dying after about six months..I'd suggest tenergy type C cells--they last three to five years (cost more to).
That's why I'm here to day...looking for replacement battery packs for this P3 and my zoomba (they are identical I think). I am a tech--if I can't find the lower cost nicad battery pack, I'll make one from my tenergy's
Anyway, I feel this unit is about fourty bucks too much. My first cost me a hundred dollars, my last cost me fourty seven. Fourty seven is about right--but only if you can find the replacement battery packs.
Not everbody knows how to make a battery pack.
Finally, as I remember it, one of my zoombas fell down the stair once and I restarted it--it worked fine. I suspect this one is pretty much the same...................SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo....if you got hard smooth slick surface type floors, go ahead....if you got carpet--get a roomba from Irobot.
