Product Description
The 3B Scientific C17 human brain model is used for anatomical study. The model is medially divided for detailed examination, with each half disassembling into four parts, including the frontal with parietal lobes, the temporal with occipital lobes, half of the brain stem, and half of the cerebellum, for effective demonstration. The model is mounted on a removable base for display, and measures 5.5 x 5.5 x 6.9 inches/14.0 x 14.0 x 17.5cm (L x W x H). (L is the horizontal distance from left to right; W is the horizontal distance from front to back; H is the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point.) Anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.

3B Scientific 8 Part Brain Model, 5.5" x 5.5" x 6.9" Review
This is a good basic brain model and a fair price. These models are great for learning anatomy on, especially when covering such areas as the temporal corices and the folia of the cerebellum, areas that perplex grad and med students alike. In my experience these models are fairly sturdy. I don't know how many times I've dropped a cerebellar hemisphere, on asphalt, linoleum, etc., and it has no scratches. This makes it great for a classroom environment where kids (primary school thru med school "kids" or students) are not always gentle with models.

Also, I'll add that if you are buying this as a gift for someone starting med school, studying in med school, or studying for med school, you might want to look at models with the skull and brain. Different med schools teach neuro differently, some with and some without the skull foramina requisite, but either way you're probably better off getting a comprehensive model - they'll appreciate having the skull model at some point in med school, even if not for strictly neuro purposes. (Although it's of course highly relevant for brain injuries!)
