KidKraft Avalon Tall Bookshelf - White Review

I never write reviews, but this product was so bad that I feel compelled to warn other prospective buyers. We purchased this bookshelf for our girls' playroom for their books. We assembled it correctly and strapped it to the wall. Even so, it is in no way stable enough to be filled with books. It quickly buckled under the effort and was a hazard for the kids. The shelves were ready to give way at any moment so we took all the books off and piled them on the floor which became a different kind of hazard. We have replaced this bookshelf with a different one now and have had to pay twice for the bad experience. I therefore write this review to let you know that this bookcase cannot be used for books. If you would like to use the bottom shelf for books and the upper two for picture frames or stuffed animals, that might work. Good luck!

MyVac- Bagless, All Floors, Cord Rewind, Pet Vacuum Review

My wife and I have been cleaning for a number of years now. I've put many many miles on our vacuums. Recently, we needed to get a new vacuum and we saw this advertised on Amazon. We were drawn to the options for creating a customized vacuum to better suit our needs. We ordered our vacuum on Tuesday and received it Thursday. (Glorious Prime!!)

We had been using a hardcore commercial vacuum up to this point, thus read my review with that in mind. (I'm pretty picky about my vacuums)

Our first impressions were a bit mixed. As we assembled the vacuum pieces together, we did not like the flimsy plastic parts. But it seemed to go together surprisingly well and every "feature" was well-thought out and in good locations.

Features we like:
-On/off foot switch for the beater brush.
-When you stand the vacuum upright, the brush turns off.
-35' cord is great.
-Gets fantastic suction power.
-Nice levels for various carpet depths.
-Lies fairly flat. Useful for getting under furniture.

-Lightweight** (I realize this is partly relative to the strength of the user and what you have been used to previously. Compared to a Windsor Versamatic, this thing is light! Dyson's are a joke in my opinion and this thing is light as a feather compared to some Dyson's. Also, as many might know, the carpet level can significantly affect the "heavy" feel many comment on. At it's lowest setting for carpet, it is very tight to the ground; it sucks very well but is harder to move. Actually, it's easy to move forward, as the brush virtually propels the vacuum forward; pulling back is tougher.)

Features we don't like (but can live with):
-Plastic!
-The turbo nozzle stays on with a magnet. Clever but not the strongest way to keep it in place. It does work ok though.
-The hose has to be "activated" by turning a knob on the side. (In the pictures, it's that giant blue round knob on the right side of the vacuum)
-The 2 extension wands sit within each other in storage mode; you have to pull them apart to put them together. (Does that make any sense?)
The above two factors make vacuuming a little more time consuming: Oh look a spider web in the corner of the ceiling! Let me stop the vacuum, detach the hose, take out the 2nd extension wand and connect it the the other one. Now I can.. no wait! I have to turn the knob!)
-Bulky.

Features we wish it had:
-Front carrying handle
-Headlight
-Espresso maker?

In our final analysis, we would be more than happy to keep using this vacuum. None of the cons on our list warranted returning it. BUT...

After using it for 30 minutes, we had a major problem: The beater brush stopped working.

Sure those things happen, that's why I threw a three-star rating on this puppy. Unfortunately, this has made us real nervous about it's longevity. So instead of getting a replacement, we are shipping it back to Amazon and moving onto another brand. If it hadn't failed like that, I think we could have had a good relationship.

It's so hard being a new parent, isn't it? How many hours have you already researched cribs? Losing sleep yet? Well, stop.
This is a great crib for around $150.00. I am an ICU RN, my husband is a safety engineer. We spent a LOT of time researching cribs. Please note most negative reviews for this product are for the drop side crib. That is not this crib. If you are looking for a safe, cheap baby crib, you have found it. That's why this crib is a baby bargins winner. What I care about is safety, safety, SAFETY! Who loses sleep over a knick in the wood? I could careless. I'm not rich; I need something that will last through 2 babies without breaking the bank. I've had this crib for 7 months and it still looks great. My husband assembled it with no problems. I purchased the Sealy Soybean Foam-Core Crib Mattress to go with it and it fits perfect (best mattress ever if you're struggling with that decision too BTW). I am very happy with this purchase for the price. I will use it for baby #2 as well. Save your money for their college and buy this crib.
